Please join us in welcoming Mrs. Kendra Hansen to the Lutheran High family! Mrs. Hansen is our new administrative and financial coordinator. She is married and has a daughter who is a nurse. A NOLA girl at heart, Mrs. Hansen is a Saints season ticket holder and lover of local fests. Welcome, Mrs. Hansen! LHS Gryphons are eclipse ready! Students dressed down in black and/or yellow and participated in solar eclipse learning activities. In keeping with Jefferson Parish's decision to implement a half day dismissal, LHS gave each student a pair of eclipse glasses for viewing at home today under parents' supervision. Did you see the eclipse through our cloud cover? #solareclipse2024 Lutheran High welcomed future Gryphons and families, and Gryphon friends, to our Spring Open House. Faculty and student ambassadors shared with visitors what it means to be a LuHigh Gryphon. If you missed our Open House event, call (504) 455-4062 to schedule a private tour. Lutheran High, a Small Place to be Extraordinary! #LuHighNOLA #BeaGryphonBeExtraordinary In celebration of the Easter season of renewal, our art students created Spring themed faux stained glass using leading paint, acrylic boards, and glass paints. Wonderful work, Gryphons! Students in Mrs. Lagarde's art classes, accompanied by Mrs. Lagarde and Mr. Brackvitch, joined creative forces with renowned local artist Josh Wingerter at his Westwego Art Center. Students toured the gallery and studio space, as well as the art house, a casual funky space that draws inspiration from street art. After the tour, Josh and fellow artist Dago provided tarps, canvases, paint supplies and encouraged students to unleash their creative spirit. Heartfelt thanks to Josh Wingerter Art Gallery for hosting our students! #creativegryphons |
