Physics Class Bridge Breaking Event

Physics Class Bridge Breaking Event

LuHigh Physics students worked alone or in teams to create a bridge that would meet the criteria for bridge design and would hold the most weight. Students competed in front of the whole school in what has become a popular culminating Physics class event. The finished bridges are suspended between two tables with a bucket hanging from them. The bucket is slowly loaded with weights until the bridge breaks. The weight at which the bridge fails is the final weight. Between the cheers for the bridge team members, Mr. Scriber educated students and why one bridge broke early or another held on as the weight piled on. Great job, Gryphons!
